In March 2012, RDSS had the first BBQ gathering with 10 families attending. It was a very good support group sharing session and everyone had fun including the children. Today, we have more than 30 families and we are looking forward to have events a bigger venue.
Through this event, we will achieve our objective in creating awareness and public advocacy of rare diseases. Kenneth Mah, founder of RDSS, was one of the recipients for SingHealth Inspiration Caregiver Award 2012. Despite the challenges faced by them, Kenneth and Patricia founded RDSS to support other families with children living with rare disorders.
RDSS participated during Speech Therapy Fair at MICA building. During the fair, RDSS was given the opportunity to meet up with our Health Minister, Mr. Gan Kim Yong. Mr Gan had offered some advice and commitment in helping our society to seek sustainable treatment for rare disease patients.
