Caelen needs a BiPAP ventilator
On 28 Feb, Caelen underwent a sleep test at KKH. This test is used to identify his sleep patterns, access respiratory functions and to also understand how the changes in airflow and pressure aid his breathing while asleep.
Sleep Test results showed his overall oxygen level at 93% (less than ideal of above 95%). Lowest oxygen level at 73% (frequent drops observed) so using a BIPAP machine during sleep is necessary to improve his breathing. Also, the senior therapist checked and noted that he is not using full lungs capacity to breath.
Caelen is currently using a ventilator loaned from hospital until the family gets one for him. A Bipap ventilator will cost over $10,000 each and RDSS is hoping to raise as much as possible to help the family in getting it for him.
